This gorgeous mystical flower has many, many names and myths surrounding it's beauty.
The hurricane lily or lycoris radiate is a beautiful perennial. It normally flowers before it's leaves appear, usually after a heavy downpour of rain, thus the nickname "Hurricane Lily." In Japan the red spider lily as it is called there is their announcement for the fall season. This same flower is called by over 1000 other names in Japan and is very popular! Some will plant them on graves because it shows a tribute to the dead. Japanese people often use this flower in funerals as a final gift of extraordinary beauty.
