MANATEE WORLD by KAREN WILES
After photographing "The Happy Manatee," I had to return for another of these adorable mammal portraits in the Florida Keys. I love photographing these fascinating creatures in their natural habitats as I did here with "Manatee World." I could see that the round tubular shape of her body looks like the earth and what better way to enhance the need for manatee preservation than to photograph her within her own world so to speak...Waiting for them to smile takes lots of patience!
Wiles' has won numerous photographic awards for her previous artwork titled
"The Happy Manatee" which can also be found within her wildlife galleries.
