What better symbol of the full circle transformation of life than the butterfly? Even better, two mating butterflies. A very rare and beautiful sight to capture and experience, especially for a photographer.
Where life's cycle begins with a beautiful mating ritual in flight before mating. During the summer breeding season, monarchs only live from 2-5 weeks during which they mate and lay the eggs that will become the next generation. The last generation of the year does not become reproductive of life and is said to be in "reproductive diapause." These monarch butterflies are the ones that migrate to Mexico where they overwinter before starting home again to rebirth the entire cycle of life all over once again. Remember to plant milkweed
in your yard this year, as this is the only host plant for the spectacular monarchs to survive.
