WHISPERS OF CLARY SAGE by KAREN WILES
North Carolina's farming industry is switching from tobacco, cotton, etc. to a more lucrative
and stunning floral crop titled "CLARY SAGE!" This most gorgeous floral usually grows in white, pink, purple or creams and glistens like no other in the back fields of North Carolina. The plant is mainly used in essential oils, laundry detergent, perfumes and colognes, etc. Clary Sage usually has a woodsy, smoky scent before processing the extraction of sclareol, a waxy substance found on the outside of the plant.
It is the starting ingredient in many perfumes, detergents, oils, etc. and is a secret to most residents who are not familiar with Clary Sage. It is grown on small farms and is hard to locate even for the locals. But the wisdom of growing Clary Sage is spreading quickly, as the farms try and hold their secret of the beautiful fields when they are in bloom and are hard to hide.
